Les écogardes et des pisteurs en mission de suivi rapproché des gorilles du secteur Mikeno ont découvert deux nouveau-nés au sein de la famille BAGENI.
Les deux femelles ont été identifiées.
Il s’agit de TUMAINI qui est à sa cinquième naissance (femelle) dont deux avec le dos argenté BAGENI et la deuxième (mâle) pour la femelle ZIADA.
La première naissance serait survenue le 20 Avril et la seconde la nuit du 24 avril 2022. Ces deux nouvelles naissances portent le nombre des gorilles de la famille BAGENI à 48 individus et le nombre des gorilles suivis regroupés dans 10 familles à 234 dont 173 identifiés. 
Composition de groupe BAGENI : 48 individus : 3 dos argentés,1 dos noir,16 adultes femelles, 7 subadultes, 8 juvéniles et 13 bébés.
Localisation de la famille : sous-zone de Gikeri
