Communiqué N° CMB 01 /2022
Le consortium Mazingira bora est composé par trois organisations ( REMED, CADH et CACOPVi), le REMED, Réseau des Médias pour le Développement , un réseau de plus de 60 médias dont les radios, les télévisions et médias en ligne des provinces de l’ Est de la RDC ( Nord- Kivu, Sud- Kivu, Ituri, Tanganyika, Haut Katanga et Lualaba), le CACOPVi, Cadre des Concertations Communautaires pour la Protection des Virunga, est un réseau de 34 organisations de la société civile engagées dans la protection et conservation de l’ environnement au Nord- Kivu, CADH, Club des Auditeurs des Droits Humains, une organisation des activités des droits humains engagés dans les audits citoyens/ contrôles citoyens. Le CONSORTIUM MAZINGIRA BORA est ainsi une synergie des Réseaux qui expriment leur inquiétude face aux affrontements à répétition entre les FARDC et les M23 dans le Secteur Sud de Mikeno du PNVi est un biotope des gorilles de montagne avec 350 familles dont 14 bébés de moins de 3 ans.
Le Secteur Sud de Mikeno est une partie du paysage grands Virunga[1] qui s’étend de la RDC au Rwanda et en Ouganda. Les trois autorités nationales de protection et conservation de l’environnement de trois pays ( RDC – ICCN[2], le Rwanda- RDB[3] et l’Ouganga – UWA[4]) elles se regroupent dans une corporation régionale appelée GVTC.
Quelques familles des Gorilles congolais vivent au Rwanda où elles sont régulièrement visitées par des touristes à Kinigi et font entrer des revenus pour la RDC propriétaire et le Rwanda pays hôte. Malheureusement la zone de Kinigi a été touchée dernièrement par des tirs en provenance des zones de combat en RDC faisant des dégâts. Ceci explique la gravité des risques et menaces que courent les gorilles.
S’il existe des corridors humanitaires pour des personnes déplacées internes avec des camps des déplacés, il n’y en a pas pour des gorilles de montagnes, espèces rares du patrimoine mondial.
Le Consortium Mazingira Bora recommande à l’ICCN de maintenir les éco-gardes dans ces zones et que les belligérants à cette guerre protègent les éco- gardes et les gorilles pendant les affrontements.
Le Consortium Mazingira Bora demande à la communauté internationale d’accéder le processus d’éradication des groupes armés à l’Est de la RDC et que, cette fois-ci, ces mécanismes tiennent compte de la protection de l’environnement.
