Après une série d’ateliers qui étaient organisés par REMED et ASAMED à Goma où plusieurs journalistes des médias de Nyiragongo, Goma, Masisi et Walikale ont pris part. Maintenant des résultats palpables commencent à se sentir, c’est notamment la finalisation du plan de sécurité pour les médias ci-haut. Pour mieux collaborer avec les médias, ASAMED Association d’Avocat pour la défense des Mediaş, a organisé un Atelier d’information aux responsables des Médias de Goma. Cet atelier a précédé celui des journalistes prévues pour finaliser les plans de sécurité et de contingence pour le pool centre.
C’était le 10 juin qu’une vingtaine des responsables des médias de Goma et Nyiragongo se sont réunis dans la salle de réunion du REMED pour un atelier d’information sur la présence d’une association d’avocats pour la défense des médias. Cette étape consistait à présenter aux responsables de médias les objectifs de l’association d’Avocats pour la Défense des Médias « ASADEM »
Retenons que depuis la formalisation de ASADEM, il y a trois mois ; le besoin de faire connaitre cette association auprès des responsables valait son pesant d’or. C’était une occasion pour permettre à ces derniers de prendre connaissance de cette association d’Avocats pour la défense des médias. Pour les professionnels de la presse ASADEM vient compléter les structures de défense de leurs droits avec comme spécificité le mandat de défendre auprès des instances judiciaires.
Ils étaient une vingtaine des responsables de différents médias dont la radio officielle RTNC, confessionnelles, privé et communautaires, de la presse écrite et en ligne.
La seconde activité a eu lieu le 11 Juin, jour suivant et cette dernière a uniquement concerné des journalistes qui avaient été formés du 12 au 14 avril 2021 à l’ hôtel BAKANJA GOMA sur la sécurité des journalistes et le journalisme d’investigation. Cet atelier a consisté à finaliser l’élaboration des plans de sécurité.
Pour rappel , il y a trois mois qu’ une dizaine d’avocats du barreau du Nord Kivu ont créé une association dénommée , « Association d’avocats pour la défense de médias (ASAMED) .
Les professionnels des médias ne bénéficiaient d’aucune assistance juridique faute de moyens financiers. Engager les services d’un avocat n’est pas à la bourse de n’importe qui , ont déclaré les responsables des médias présents à la séance. Il n’est pas un secret que des journalistes pendant l’exercice de leur travail sont victimes des menaces de mort des certaines autorités et hautes personnalités lorsqu’ils dénoncent des malversations et autres violations des droits humains. Lorsqu’ils décident de recourir à la justice et se présentent devant certains cabinets d’avocat ils se trouvent incapables faute de moyens financières et aussi ignorants de la procédure à suivre.
La naissance de cette association des avocats (ASAMED) est un Boué de sauvetage, car désormais les nombreuses alertes de JED ne resteront plus classées dans les tiroirs.
Au finish les responsables des médias présents à cet atelier d’information ont posé quelques questions pour bien éclairer leur lanterne afin de mieux accompagner ASMED.
