Dans moins de cinq mois le territoire de Lubero sera illuminé par le courant de la centrale de LUVIRO grâce à VIRUNGA SARL. Ces travaux de construction de cette centrale hydroélectrique date de deux ans, en dépit de difficultés lié à la végétation et au problème de sécurité volatile d’ici début 2020 les travaux de construction seront terminés.
C’est depuis deux ans maintenant, Virunga SARL s’est lancée dans la construction de la centrale de LUVIRO en Territoire de Lubero. L’infrastructure, une prouesse de l’ingénierie, présente des défis permanents aux ingénieurs et à toutes les équipes qui y travaillent à cause d’un relief difficile et une situation sécuritaire volatile. En dépit de tous ces défis les travaux avancent ;
A Ivingu par exemple, site où est érigée la centrale, les travaux sont exécutés à plus de 75 % : L’ouvrage de prise d’eau (OPE) est complètement terminé. La construction du canal est à 76 % ; 1060 mètres ont déjà été exécutés sur un total de 1387 mètres. La chambre de mise en charge (CMC) est complètement terminée. Pour la conduite forcée de 627 mL avec 242 m de hauteur de chute, 160 tuyaux sont nécessaires et 20 ont déjà été posé soit une exécution de 12.5%. L’usine est finie à 95 %, le montage des turbines est déjà fait. Fin des travaux vers mars 2020.
