A l’occasion de la Journée Internationale de la Rivière, le Département Environnemental du Club des Auditeurs des Droits de l’Homme CADH en sigle appelle à la sauvegarde des eaux des rivières, à l’assainissement et protection des lits afin de prévenir et limiter les dégâts catastrophiques liés aux crues, érosions et inondations. En effet pour palier à ces problèmes le CADH propose: 1) L’interdiction de déverser les eaux usées des zones minières dans les eaux des rivières pour empêcher la pollution pouvant être nuisible aux différentes espèces végétales et animales halieutiques ainsi qu’à l’homme. L’exemple le plus frappant est celui de la pollution des eaux de la rivière Kasaï et les dégâts qui s’en sont suivis et dont nous exigeons des réparations. 2 2) Dans les zones habitées l’érosion des talus des lits et versants des cours d’eaux pose une sérieuse menace aux habitants: quant à ce, nous proposons un bon terrassement de la part du service de voirie et drainage de l’Etat ainsi que la méthode de fixation et rétention du sol par les plantes stabilisantes. 3) Un bon plan d’urbanisme de la part du service habilité permettra également d’éviter les risques liés aux inondations lors des crues des rivières qui ne cessent d’endeuiller ça et là les populations. L’exemple des dégâts humains et matériels de la rivière Kihira aux périphéries de Goma sur la route Sake, Musimbiriza / Kilabu qui traverse la commune rurale de Rutshuru/Kiwanja, Kimemi dans la ville de Butembo… devrait être évité. 4) Au service de fourniture de l’eau ( REGIDESO) nous exigeons plus de rigueur sur les méthodes de traitement de l’eau afin de réduire les effets néfastes sur la santé En fin tout en réitérant notre refus sur la déviation des eaux de la rivière Ubangi vers le lac Tchad pouvant entraîner d’énormes conséquences environnementales et perturbations de l’écosystème, nous encourageons la construction des microcentrales hydroélectriques dans les respects stricts des mesures environnementales. télécharger le communiqué PDF ici
