Pour évaluer sa contribution aux efforts des autorités, un atelier des leçons apprise a été organisé à Goma. Il y a été question d’identifier les meilleures pratiques à capitaliser, les défis auxquels l’opération avait été confrontée et tirer les leçons afin d’améliorer dans l’avenir sa manière de faire.
Pour la circonstance, on a noté la présence du Représentant du Gouverneur militaire, du Secrétaire Général de la CR RDC, du Président provincial CR RDC/Nord-Kivu, des Représentants du Comité International et de la Fédération Internationale de Croix-Rouge, des Directeurs centraux venus de Kinshasa et des membres de la Gestion de la CR RDC/Nord-Kivu.
Présentant quelques réalisations, le Directeur des Opérations de la CR RDC a relevé 500 abris provisoires construits, 1575 Articles Ménagers Essentiels remis aux sinistrés, 36 latrines construites ou réhabilitées, 1640860 litres d’eau servis, …
Il sied de noter que plus de 400 volontaires ont été mobilisés afin d’accomplir la mission de la Croix-Rouge qui est celle de « PREVENIR les maladies, ALLEGER et SOULAGER les souffrances et AMELIORER les conditions d’existence des populations les plus vulnérables où qu’elles se trouvent, sans distinction de race, de religion ni d’appartenance politique. »
