Depuis Mai 2021, trois journalistes ont été tués dans l’Est de la RDCongo et cela dans des conditions non encore élucidées. Beaucoup d’autres professionnels des médias subissent des menaces et l’Union nationale de la presse du Congo (UNPC) a lancé une campagne pour alerter sur cette situation tout en demandant que justice soit faite. Hélas, quelques temps après, le mystère entourant l’assassinat de ces journalistes grandit toujours dans le paysage médiatique qui s’interroge sur l’identité des commanditaires. La justice ne s’est pas encore prononcée là-dessus même s’il y’a eu des arrestations.
« Ça devient très courant, l’assassinat des journalistes en RDCongo…nous autres sommes aussi sous menaces et ma plus grande crainte est qu’on arrive à être insensible à une information sur un nouveau cas d’assassinat d’un journaliste dans la région, tellement ça devient ordinaire…parce que la justice n’a toujours rien dit à ce sujet et cela est inquiétant pour nous » s’exclame monsieur Eugène Rwanze, journaliste à la RTNC-Rutshuru.
Son collègue de service Heritier Magayane avait été froidement abattu en Aout 2021, et le journaliste Eugène Rwanze s’attendait à un procès pédagogique pour dit-il, éviter cela ne se reproduise à l’avenir: « nous ne savons pas où en est la justice, nous pensons juste que le dossier est en instruction mais cela traine un peu » estime-t-il, d’une voix navrante.
Contacté par notre rédaction, le président sectionnaire de l’UNPC-Rutshuru monsieur Innocent Gashamba indique que son bureau est en train de suivre ce dossier mais avec quelques difficultés. « Quelques présumés auteurs de l’assassinat de notre collègue journaliste Héritier Magayane sont déjà aux arrêts à l’auditorat militaire de Rutshuru, mais nous subissons des menaces de la part des inconnus…nous pensons qu’il s’agit des commanditaires de l’assassinat et cela fait que la famille biologique du défunt aie du mal à nous accompagner pour obtenir justice » révèle Innocent Gashamba.
Le président sectionnaire de l’UNPC-Rutshuru parle sur un ton en tout cas ferme « nous n’allons pas abandonner malgré les menaces, nous suivons de très près l’évolution du dossier au niveau de la justice et nous nous battrons jusqu’au bout » insiste-t-il, sans cacher le danger d’une telle mission.
De l’autre coté, l’ASADEM dit suivre à la justice le dossier d’assassinat du journaliste Barthelemy Changamuka de Masisi. « Le dossier est en instruction au niveau de l’auditorat militaire garnison de Goma et les enquêtes pré-juridictionnelles sont en cours » révèle Maître Constantin Mugisha, Coordonnateur de l’ASADEM qui, face à la justice, note également quelques difficultés qui risquent d’entraver l’état d’avancement du dossier.
« Jusqu’aujourd’hui, quelques suspects ont été arrêtés et sont détenus à l’auditorat militaire de Goma mais nous avons des difficultés au niveau de la partie civile car les familles biologique et professionnelle du défunt ne savent pas nous accompagner…c’est pourtant eux la partie civile et s’ils ne peuvent pas confirmer la plainte, la procédure sera compliquée et le dossier risque d’être classé sans suite » explique-t-il, appelant à la collaboration directe entre professionnels des médias et l’ASADEM qui défend leurs droits.
Pour madame
dans la province du Nord-Kivu, sa corporation en tant que famille professionnelle des défunts journalistes collabore avec la justice afin de trouver gain de cause mais pour cela, les familles biologiques des victimes doivent d’abord être mobilisées: « pour l’instant, il se pose un petit souci procédural au niveau de la justice avec la qualité de la partie civile…nous avons certes des avocats qui doivent accompagner le plaignant mais dès lorsque ce dernier se résigne, il est pratiquement difficile de suivre un tel dossier » explique-t-elle.
Et pour le juriste Constantin Mugisha de l’organisation ASADEM, le ministère public ne saura pas faire avancer un tel dossier à la justice sans plaignant, que si c’est celui qui s’en est saisi, sans l’intermédiaire de qui que c’est soi.
