RDC L’Institut Congolais pour la Conservation de la Nature (ICCN) informe le public qu’une unité conjointe ICCN / FARDC en patrouille
entre Mabenga et Kasali, dans le secteur centre du Parc National desVirunga, a été victime d’une embuscade tendue par des éléments FDLR, lundi 21 février
2022 à 9h20. Communiqué attaque Mabenga
Un élément de cette unité a été gravement blessé par balle. Il reçoit les soins requis dans une structure hospitalière. Deux inciviques sont décédés, un a été arrêté et une arme de type AK47 a été saisie.
L’ICCN condamne fermement cette nouvelle attaque. Il réaffirme sa volonté de mettre en application la loi n°14/03 du 11 février 2014 sur la conservation de la nature, dans le respect des droits humains et de l’Etat de droit, sur tout le territoire qui relève de sa juridiction. Il réitère aussi sa volonté d’appuyer le travail des autorités militaires dans le cadre de l’Etat de Siège.
Dans ce contexte, l’ICCN appelle les populations riveraines du parc à faire preuve de prudence et à se tenir à l’écart des zones qui demeurent sous l’influence des groupes armés.
