C’est une commune qui est nouvellement instituée dans le cadre de la décentralisation de la République Démocratique du Congo, la Commune rurale de KANYABAYONGA est se situe à 179km de Goma sur la route nationale quatre (4) âpres le Parc National des Virunga en allant vers Butembo. Cette commune à vocation agricole regorge une potentialité dans la production d’ananas qui nécessitent une usine de transformation des jus et confiture d’ananas.
Nous avons rencontré l’autorité communal monsieur KASEREKA FATIRI Chrysostome, qui nous a présenté succinctement la commune rurale de KANYABAYONGA et toutes ses richesses agricoles. Il nous a également limité cette commune dans le temps et dans l’espace, elle en cheval entre deux territoires notamment le territoire de Rutshuru et de Lubero. Du point de vue éducationnel c’est une commune qui connait un espoir en éducation scolaire et universitaire, car plusieurs écoles sont construites et beaucoup d’université sont en chantier d’élaboration.
